The Situation

Several million people in Zimbabwe are facing starvation as extreme food shortages, drought, unemployment and economic meltdown have taken their toll over the years.

The Zimbabwean people are extremely resilient; they are survivors in the face of adversity but their spirit is breaking.  The country has an overwhelming need for assistance in many spheres.

The Project

Earlier this year, two Perth based not for profit organisations joined together to gather equipment and supplies to fill two shipping containers to send to Zimbabwe.  We have excellent contacts within Zimbabwe who will safely and equitably distribute these supplies to rural communities and medical facilities within and around the city of Bulawayo.

With support from the medical, pharmaceutical, business and general community across Western Australia, we collected medical and "life essentials" in our Perth warehouse.

The containers were shipped to a rural community near Bulawayo in September 2008 and have recently been unpacked and will be distributed in December through our excellent local contacts.

LATEST NEWS:  Cosmos HealthCare have launched an urgent appeal for funds
